The middle of October brings with it Sweetest Day.
Some will immediately call it a Hallmark holiday and they wouldn’t be wrong, however to others its a day that gives reason to slow down and remind your partner why you love them.
A simple gesture, a gift, a card, or a smile and some special affection just to name a few things. Is it bad to indulge in the hallmark day? I say no.
Anytime you stop and take an extra moment to tell someone you care or love them is never a bad thing. We are human and we need to remember that we have the power to make our partners feel a certain way just by stopping to take a moment and remind them how important they are to us.
How many of us can honestly say that we get this attention from our partners more then on special occasions, such as birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, and yes those Hallmark holidays also?
When talking with friends it didn’t seem like to many felt that the extra step was taken without a date marked on the calendar.
HEY we need to step it up!
Everyday? Well lets continue to be honest… Everyday is not all romance and roses.
Remember though that more days then not we are capable of taking even just an extra moment to look in their eyes a moment longer, embrace for a passionate kiss hello or goodbye instead of a peck on the way out the door or to run the kids to the next event, slip the love note in her bag, send the good morning text or afternoon picture of you together on your last adventure with a reminder of how much you enjoy something about being together or the way they make you feel. When its been a long week, a busy schedule with family, take the time to plan a date night, or make it a point to settle in on the couch even if for just 30 min and relax together.
Sweetest day is any day you get to spend with your partner, your best friend, the person you are sharing your life with. Remember to slow down and express love in your daily life.
You don’t need a date on the calendar to have a reason.
